Wondering what to expect coming to our salon?

Below are some common questions that are asked…


What is the return policy for AVEDA products purchased at Sakora Salon and Spa?
You may always return any* AVEDA product purchased at our location accompanied by an original receipt within 2 weeks from the date of purchase. *Excludes Makeup

What methods of payment do you accept?
We accept Cash, Checks, Visa, American Express, MasterCard, Sakora Gift Cards and Visa or MasterCard Debit Cards.

How much should I tip?
Generally 10-20% of the total service is appropriate, depending upon how you feel the quality of service was.


How far in advance should I book my appointment?
We recommend all guests scheduling their appointments 2 – 4 weeks in advance for Friday or Saturday. We highly recommend pre-booking appointments before leaving the salon and spa if you see a specific service provider. Walk-ins are welcomed if time is available.

Will you remind me of my appointment?
Yes. Your appointment will be confirmed 48 hours in advance. If we have your email, you will also get a reminder in your email. Text massage reminders are also sent if we have your cell phone number.

Why do prices vary?
We base our prices on an individual’s educational level within Sakora Salon and Spa. For hair color services, prices also vary on the amount of hair you have and amount of color used. We are confident in recommending all of our team members, regardless of price, to any of our guests.

When should I arrive for my spa appointment?
We suggest that you arrive 10-15 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment. This will allow you the opportunity to change, relax and to let the staff know of any special requests or questions that you might have.

What if I need to cancel my appointment?
Although we know instances may arise that prohibit you from giving us proper notification for missing appointments, 24 hours notice of appointment changes is requested for hair appointments and 48 hours for Spa Services. We reserve the right to charge you for services not cancelled in this time frame.

What if I am late?
If you find yourself running late for an appointment, please call our salon at 734-282-4247 and let them know so that they can inform your service provider to see if it would affect any other clients scheduled that day. We will always do our best to accommodate you if possible.

Are children allowed in Sakora Salon and Spa?
We do welcome children that have an appointment however we do not have the facilities to watch children during a parent’s appointment. For the comfort of our spa guests, children are not allowed in the spa unless receiving a service. Thank you for understanding.

What if I don not like my haircut or color that I received at Sakora Salon and Spa?
Although we do not give cash refunds, if you are not 100% satisfied you are more than welcome to come back for a complimentary redo with the same service provider or someone else within 14 days or the original service date.

Massage & Body Treatment:

What should I wear if I am getting a massage or a body treatment service?
Wear what makes you feel comfortable. Your body will remain draped throughout the treatment with only the area being worked on exposed.

What should I expect when receiving a full body massage?
When arriving for your scheduled massage appointment, you will be greeted by our staff and given instructions on how to prepare for your massage. Our therapists explain the entire process in detail so that you can make decisions based on your individual preferences and needs for the service to maximize your comfort level.

How long should I grow my hair before waxing?
For best results, hair should be one-quarter of an inch to no longer than one-half of an inch in length.

Can I get a massage if I am pregnant?
Yes. Our therapists are trained in prenatal massage, but doctor’s approval is advisable. Please be sure to notify your therapist before your appointment.

Can men go to Sakora Salon and Spa?
Yes. Men can and have experienced all of our services, ranging from haircuts, hair color, and manicures to massage and body treatments. Many men also visit us to purchase Gift Cards for their loved ones.

Can I customize a spa package?
If our spa packages do not suit your needs, we invite you to build your own service package so you may choose those services that interest you most. Our staff can help you book several appointments together for a full or half day experience and also recommend services that work well together.
